Setting spray: Friend or Op!
Are setting sprays and finishing sprays twins?
“Do you really need both?”
Then the rabbit hole ensues: what’s the difference; what’s all the hype about; which one do I buy or is all of this — just consumerism?
Well girl I got you — I’m spilling beauty tea to help uncover the truth behind these magical mists.
If you’re active on Instagram and your algorithm is set up like mines, you’ve probably seen endless content from #Charlotte Tilbury, #One-size, #Elf, #Morphe, #Kryolan, yada yada yada. Are they really worth all the hype you ASK - let’s talk about it!
POINT OF DIFFERENCE
FINISHING SPRAYS - They work to enhance the overall look with dewy/hydration or matte the skin when needed. The real OG’s blur pores and fine lines - “whose gonna say no to that", I’ll wait. Another benefit of blurring, it looks like your makeup was applied with a Airbrush machine. Gives a satin-like; skin-like effect. Think of them as your finishing tool, almost the last step to your application before locking and setting.
SETTING SPRAYS - To simplify, they extend your wear time but some even help to refresh that powdery overdone look that makeup can give. These are the real work-horses because they offer more than one function. I rely on these sprays heavy, because I can trust that a Client’s glam sets, won’t transfer nor fade.
Now here’s where things get a little tricky - some sprays combine both setting and finishing properties so you need to understand the primary function of each before throwing ‘em in your cart. No tea, no shade: Reading is fundamental!

IN SUMMARY
There’s more than a few sprays that exist now, so choosing the right one for you could come down to skin type, lifestyle; sensitive noses, or IF texture matters because the ones that grip, feel grippy!
All of this kinda reminds me dating, gotta try a few!
Listen, we have it good now...before these magic mist even existed a hug could leave a trail of foundation, even answering the phone was risky - “ick!”
Glad those days are behind us.
